Objective
Details of route, timing and team will be published as planning is confirmed.
Route
Proposed route on foot along the banks of the Congo River, from its source in Zambia to the Atlantic at Banana. Planned stages: Source, Mukulu, Pweto, Kiambi, Kabalo, Kasongo, Kindu, Kisangani, Lokutu, Lisala, Bangabola, Mbandaka, Bolobo, Kinshasa, Matadi and Banana. This is a proposed line that follows the river's edge. It has not been checked as walkable, and several gaps and crossings are still being investigated. The final route may change.
Context
The Congo basin holds the second-largest rainforest on Earth and one of the most demanding river environments for expedition work.
