From the Jungle to the Classroom: Why I’m Relaunching My Mission

Since my last blog post in September, life has been anything but still.

I’ve spent time deep in the Swedish wilderness preparing for a future project that pushes every mental and physical boundary. I was also invited to take an influencer into the jungle - a wild, off-grid journey to raise the profile of a campaign they were supporting. We crossed rivers, hacked through dense forest, and showed what a real expedition looks like when the cameras stop rolling.

But as much as the jungle challenges you, it also teaches you. And those lessons – about resilience, risk, and resourcefulness – don’t just belong in remote corners of the world. They belong in classrooms, boardrooms, and everyday life.

That’s why I’m relaunching.

The Relaunch: Merchant Traveller becomes DanielEggington.com

Over the last few years, I’ve built Merchant Traveller Ltd into a platform for adventure, education, and consulting. I’ve completed expeditions across South America, worked with communities in the favelas of Brazil, and even tested my limits in the Arctic Circle.

Now, I’m sharpening my focus.

The goal: to share what I’ve lived and learned with those who need it most.

  • Schools: Inspiring young people about courage, character, and curiosity.
  • Corporates: Talks on leadership, mental endurance, and decision-making under pressure.
  • Expedition Skills: Practical workshops for those preparing for their own journeys.
  • Consulting: From media safety to cultural insight, supporting teams in complex environments like Latin America.

And yes - this is also about turning a life of travel and risk into a business that sustains itself. Monetising my expeditions isn’t about ego; it’s about impact. With the right funding, I can do more. Teach more. Reach more.

What’s Happening Now

In recent months, I’ve been invited to speak at national festivals for the UK outdoor community. The feedback has been humbling — people want more than adventure stories. They want real talk about how these experiences shape us.

If you’re a teacher, head, or youth worker, I’d love to bring this message to your students.

If you’re a business leader looking for a fresh angle on resilience and adaptability, I’ve got stories you won’t forget. There is also a pay it forward which goes direct to an young athlete in the favelas of Brazil
